Overview
Standup Republic is a full-stack digital platform that transformed how stand-up comedy events are organized in Germany — connecting promoters, comedians, and audiences in a single, unified ecosystem. Previously, the scene ran on spreadsheets, cash payouts, and manual check-ins. This platform replaced all of that.
Challenge
Three very different user types — comedians, event promoters, and ticket buyers — needed to share one product without any friction between them. Each had distinct goals and workflows. The challenge was designing an experience that felt tailor-made for each, while keeping the underlying system coherent and maintainable.
Solution
I mapped out three distinct user journeys in Figma and designed dedicated interfaces for each role: Comedians get an application flow, ranking system, and automated payout dashboard. Promoters get an event publishing suite with real-time sales analytics and Eventim integration. Ticket buyers get a clean, mobile-first purchase and entry flow with QR validation. A comprehensive admin layer ties it all together. After launching the web MVP, I designed the native iOS and Android apps built via Capacitor.
Outcome
The MVP launched in four weeks. The platform has been in active development for 18+ months and is now the digital backbone of Germany's independent comedy circuit — with measurable reductions in administrative overhead for both promoters and comedians.
